- From the N2 Durban take off ramp Empangeni / Richards Bay, turn right, under the bridge, and keep straight through to the sea and Meerensee.
- From the N2 Pongola / Mtubatuba take off ramp Empangeni / Richards Bay, turn left and keep straight through to the sea and Meerensee.
- From Richards Bay CBD and airport head for the John Ross Parkway dual carriageway road leading to Meerensee.
- Checks approaching Richards Bay: Mondi factory on the left, traffic lights at Foskor with a number of very tall chimneys, woodchip stockpiles on the right, large traffic light intersection where road becomes dual carriageway – the John Ross Parkway.
- On entering Meerensee the road curves left (over the “rumble-strips”) and becomes Anglers Rod in which the B&B is situated.
- Keep in the left lane and after passing the church on the left side slow down.
- On the left is a road named Grunters Gully, DO NOT turn into this road but go another 30m further on and immediately after the shrubs on the left is the entrance into Sunbird Suites, the garden wall is “pink & white”.
- There is a brown Sunbird Suites B&B sign in the central reservation immediately opposite the entrance gate, turn left at this sign into the entrance.
- If you reach the traffic lights you have gone too far – turn left at the traffic lights, and do a "left loop" back to Anglers Rod, coming out onto Anglers Rod on Grunters Gully.
